Leadership is a weighty responsibility.
It is possible to carry it well.

Lapis Partners works with executive teams, boards, and emerging leaders in mid-market organizations and cooperatives. We help capable people get honest about what's actually going on, make courageous decisions in response, and move without waiting for someone else or something else to change.

Most organizations don't struggle for lack of effort.

More often, the people at the top are working from different assumptions, the board isn't sure what belongs to it, or the leaders coming up aren't getting the honest feedback they need to grow. The effort is there. The traction isn't.

Executive teams

Capable people don't automatically become a team. Priorities get read differently, real tensions go unsaid, and decisions don't hold.

Boards

Boards drift into operations, stay too general to be useful, or lose track of what the organization actually needs from them.

Emerging leaders

Promising leaders need more than encouragement. They need honest feedback, a clearer view of themselves, and the kind of growth that changes how they actually lead.

We work on the conversations, decisions, and habits that actually move an organization.

Whether it's an executive team that needs to get honest with itself, a board that needs to actually govern, or a leader growing in wisdom, the aim is the same: see what's really going on, and have the courage to act on it.

Disciplined thinkingDiscerning the actual problem before solving the wrong one.
Sound processThe genius is usually already in the room. Our work is helping it get expressed and clarified.
Practical judgmentGrounded in real organizational life, not abstractions.
Credibility with leadersA consultant who has all the answers loses the room. The credible move is to ask better questions and trust the people in it to find the answers.
01

Start with a conversation

We start with your situation and the questions on your mind. No pitch, no pressure.

02

Find the real need

Together we figure out where the actual issue lies and whether this is work worth doing, for you and for us. The right engagement is one where everyone can see the value.

03

Shape the engagement

From there we design a focused path: the right people, the right scope, nothing heavier than it needs to be. And if we're not the right fit, we'll say so and point you toward someone who is.

Better isn't more activity. It's a different way of operating.

Stronger trust at the top, a board that knows its job, leaders who grow the people under them, and decisions that hold up when the pressure is on.

Mitch Majeski, founder of Lapis Partners

I'm Mitch Majeski. Lapis Partners is the expression of a lifelong burden to help leaders, teams, and boards humbly and courageously take real responsibility for the organizations they lead.

Most of my work happens as a partner in the work, with an executive team that's stuck, a board trying to figure out what belongs to them, a leader growing in wisdom. I've always been drawn to those moments when people stop spinning their wheels and gain clarity about how they can best contribute right now. When that happens, something changes. Energy replaces frustration, and drift becomes momentum.

That's why I created Lapis Partners.
